Reality of Slots of Gaming

Let's put something on the table right now that has to do with the reality of gambling and especially how it pertains to the most popular game in the casino, slots.

First of all, you have got to realize that the things you are about to read about gambling are aimed at the "guy in the street," the regulars who pour their money into the casinos in the hopes of bringing home the windfall that will change their lives.

It is not about your neighbor, nor your friend, it is about you. You with the short bankroll and big dreams, who think on the days you win you're a genius and the days you lose God hates you.

Well, that's a lot of crap. You lose because you play like dorks and then blame everyone in the county except the person who peers back at you every day from your bathroom mirror.

There are two things to grasp from this message which are Bankroll and Reality.

Most of you have neither and 90% of you don't even know what these words mean.

Let's start with Bankroll, the thing that determines how much you will win or lose on a given day.

Bankroll does not mean $8,000 or $5,000 or even $600. Bankroll is the amount of money you take to a casino.

If you have $200, that's your bankroll. If you have $100, that's your bankroll. If you have $50, that's your bankroll. You just have to accept it and adjust your game with it.

A guy with $500 to take to the slots should win more than the guy with $50 but that's because he has staying power. He can last longer at the machines.

By the same token, the guy with the $50 stake should not think he has the right to win as much as the guy with bigger bucks.

The amount of your return is based on a percentage of your stakes. If one can win 20% of $500 for a $100 return, he has had a great day. And if another wins more often, say 40% with his $50 stake, then he should be happy with his $20 profit.

But do you think he is? Don't be silly. That dork wants to double his money and won't even accept twice as good a percentage as his higher-heeled brother.

Which leads us to the Reality of gambling, the second of the two words that most people don't grasp.

The Reality of gambling is that your chances of winning are never better than 50-50. It's not about how good you are, your chances never get better than 50-50.

So if you win 20% of what you take to the casino, you're a roaring genius. If you won't accept that 20%, you're a hopeless dork, and that's Reality, something most people don't realize.
